Southwestern part of the lowland surrounds Peipsi lake, including the Piirissaare island

The biggest mire is Emajõe Suursoo in the mouth of the Emajõgi river: mainly swamps, transitional fens and bogs, mire islands, mire communities

Along the coast a continuous stretch of reedbeds

Coastal terrace with occasional red sand denudations between Varnja and Kallaste

Erratic boulders ( the Kalevipoeg bridge) and moraine coast at Nina village
