E-learning object of 0.1 study weeks
National Curriculum of Tourism
Module of Vocational English / ESP

The present e-learning object is meant to be a tool for tourism students to prepare presentations on the history of South Estonia in English.

The object connects the modules of Tourism geography and Vocational English/ESP, refreshing the learners` knowledge of culture and history by providing the overviews and giving the relevant phrases on the historical periods and events in South Estonia. Prior to preparing the presentations, some tasks should be fulfilled to practice the vocab and remember the historical landmarks:

  • Fill in the gaps with relevant words or phrases
  • Match the events with the historical period

In the course of the Tourism geography module the learners study the Estonian culture and history and the cultural heritage of the Estonian touristic regions.

In the vocational English / ESP module the learners give presentations on regional history and culture to achieve the target of being able to speak fluently on tourism-related topics.

The object also contributes to the development of the learners` general competencies by building their interest in the history and culture, as well as the sights in South Estonia.
